Elias is the Greek equivalent of Elijah (Hebrew: אֵלִיָּהוּ‎ ʾĒlīyyāhū; Syriac: ܐܠܝܐ Eliyā; Arabic: الیاس Ilyās/Elyās), a prophet in the Northern Kingdom of Israel in the 9th century BC, mentioned in several holy books.
